Born to Run!

btr

My husband & I have joined the Woman’s New Life Center as team members for their Born to Run 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 8:30 AM at Audubon Park, Shelter #10 Newman Bandstand. This festive event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels and will be a fun day for the whole family. The Run/Walk, which includes a one-mile option (that’s what I’m doing!), will conclude with a ‘Birth’ Day Party featuring great food, live music by Pelican212, and family activities. We expect over 400 runners and walkers to participate.

Founded in 2001, WNLC is a life-affirming counseling and medical center that serves women facing unplanned pregnancies in Southeastern Louisiana. With offices in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, WNLC offers a unique blend of services that includes professional counseling, pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, adoption facilitation, Creighton Model Fertility Care System, professional post-abortion counseling, extended counseling for individuals, families and couples, and a well-woman healthcare clinic.

As Captain for TEAM SOUTHLEFT, I have committed to help raise money and awareness for Woman’s New Life Center’s mission to save lives and I need YOUR HELP. I have a goal of raising at least $1,000 by April 9th. I ask that you consider making a gift to WNLC to help me reach my fundraising goal.

Please remember that no donation is too small and every donation is 100% tax deductible. Please visit the Born to Run web page at www.womansnewlife.com/borntorun and make a donation with your credit or debit card. Simply click the “Donate to a Team” button and enter SOUTHLEFT or KATIE PITRE. If you would rather mail a check (made payable to WNLC) you can send it to Woman’s New Life Center 3032 Ridgelake Dr., Suite 100, Metairie 70002.

Thanks in advance for all of your help and support. Together, we WILL save lives!

PS: Please feel free to share with friends and family who may want to help as well and post all over social media!  🙂

Cereal

People have been asking me if I’ve had any pregnancy cravings. I didn’t really think I did, other than mild aversions to food that I normally love (boiled crawfish, for example). But, I think I’ve decided that my pregnancy food is cereal… any kind of cereal. We’ve had to upgrade to buying gallons of milk instead of half gallons!! That’s a first! I polished off a box of Cap’n Crunch yesterday, and I’m between Life and Raisin Bran right now. I love every kind of cereal, from the healthiest ancient grains all the way to the kiddie sugary stuff. I really can’t think of one kind of cereal that I don’t like. Sometimes, I have to walk quickly down the cereal aisle to avoid buying too much (or just bypass it altogether)!

So, there it is. And, enjoy this awesome vintage ad:
