For the most part, my childhood in Catholic parochial schools was a nightmare.

I am a 33-year old woman and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion in our parish, so I’m part of the author’s issue here. Our parish needs all the lay ministers it can get for now. I just received a phone call from the marketing department of the medical center that I wrote to a few weeks ago (see here: Response to a Medical Article).
I spoke directly with the marketing director, who was very friendly. She said that I was right, and both she and the doctor agreed with me! They were apologetic and appreciated my perspective. I trust that their response is authentic and hope this helps, even in the slightest way, to combat the misconception that contraception is not the go-to answer for all of a woman’s reproductive and sexual health. Hopefully, their future articles will better promote all of the good and healthy things that these physicians can provide to their patients!

My husband & I have joined the Woman’s New Life Center as team members for their Born to Run 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 8:30 AM at Audubon Park, Shelter #10 Newman Bandstand. This festive event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels and will be a fun day for the whole family. The Run/Walk, which includes a one-mile option (that’s what I’m doing!), will conclude with a ‘Birth’ Day Party featuring great food, live music by Pelican212, and family activities. We expect over 400 runners and walkers to participate.
